Branching Streams

Branching Streams is a program that involves the affiliates of the San Francisco Zen Center. For us it means creating a more organized relationship between the Austin, Houston, and San Antonio Zen Centers in conjunction with the SFZC for the purpose of sharing visiting teachers, and coordinating special events with each other. We are working toward a gathering of these three Texas centers of Branching Streams in Houston sometime next year.

The coordinators in the centers are Lane Stuckey of SFZC, Anne Handley of AZC, Joe Castelberry of HZC, and Gerald Schulz of SAZC.

Spring is one of our blessings—new beginnings, new life. But new life is a life not only of blossoms but of thorns and weeds. Life does not stay new; spring is inherently one part of a greater cycle of growing and dying. So we look deeper. What is spring when it neither comes nor goes?
